Nigeria striker Osaze Odemwingie is happy that Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku is with West Brom on loan and the Nigerian has expressed his admiration for the Belgian youngster.

Lukaku’s arrival is expected to make the competition for places in West Brom’s strike force tougher, but Odemwingie has welcomed his much younger rival with open arms.

Both players were on target on Saturday when West Brom thrashed Liverpool 3-0, Odemwingie scoring the second from the spot and Lukaku sealing the win with an impressive strike.

Odemwingie, West Brom’s top scorer last season, hailed his young teammate’s contribution to the big win via microblogging site Twitter.

The Super Eagles star tweeted: “Well done to all Baggies. Great support today. A victory and performance to remember. Gera goal of the year. Yacob, Lukaku very good.”
