WEST BROM NOT INTERESTED IN SELLING ODEMWINGIE
Declares Albion Manager Steve Clarke
West Brom manager Steve Clarke insists Peter Odemwingie is going nowhere, amid interest from Premier League rivals.
The Baggies have rejected a £4 million offer for the striker by Qatari club Al-Gharafa insisting they are not interested in selling their star striker.
Fulham and Sunderland are the latest teams to have reportedly shown an interest in the player but recently appointed manager Steve Clarke has re-asserted that Odermwingie is staying put.
He told The Express: “I think you’re always going to have speculation about your good players.
“It wouldn’t be football otherwise, especially with it being the summer when the transfer window is open.
“Your good players are always going to be linked with other clubs.
“There was one bid that came in for Peter, but it wasn’t from an English club. We turned it down – and I think that says enough.”
The 31-year-old Nigeria international has been a firm fans’ favourite at the Hawthorns since his move from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2010, scoring 25 goals in the Premier League over two seasons.
